An alleged cocaine drug ring spanning two states has been uncovered by New South Wales and South Australian police, leading to the arrests of five people.

At 1:00pm on Wednesday, NSW Police went to a park in Guildford, where they arrested a 33-year-old man who was in possession of a large amount of cash and drugs, believed to be cocaine.

Search warrants were executed at three properties, two in Guildford and another in Granville. More drugs and drug paraphernalia were seized.

SA Police's Detective Chief Inspector Tony Crameri said the arrests showed criminals could not use state borders to avoid detection and apprehension.

"These positive, collaborative policing relationships help protect the wider public from the damage that is caused by illicit drug use and those that seek to profit from the misery of others," he said.

Commander of the NSW Police Force's Organised Crime Squad, Acting Detective Superintendent Damien Beaufils, said these arrests were a great example of how a multi-agency response to criminal activity could be extremely effective.

"This was a truly collaborative investigation with our colleagues from South Australia Police," he said.

"People who choose to break the law, whether that is in NSW or elsewhere, need to know that police will use all the resources available to bring them to justice."
