Nicole Woods, 55, was working at Staughton College in Melton when the crime took place. Her victim was a 15-year-old student at the school.

Woods eventually resigned from the school but was then able to get another teaching job in the same suburb at the Catholic Regional College.

In March of this year Woods allegedly went on the run, and police issued a warrant for her arrest after she failed to show in court.

Her victim never ended up finishing school, and friends said his mental trauma I ongoing.

The Education Department said it: "takes incidents of inappropriate conduct very seriously", and "as this matter involving a former employee is currently before the courts it would be inappropriate to comment further."

Today, Woods pleaded guilty on the eve of her trial, and has been released on bail until December, when she is due to face court again. She faces up to 15 years behind bars.
