  Boxer Patrick Day dies aged 27 American boxer Patrick Day has died, aged 27, four days after suffering a brain injury in his fight against Charles Conwell in Chicago. Day was rushed to hospital on Saturday after he was knocked out by Conwell in the 10th round on the undercard of Oleksandr Usyk's fight with Chazz Witherspoon.He was treated by a doctor in the ring and was stretchered by paramedics and transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.After having brain surgery, he was in an extremely critical condition for the next few days before his death was confirmed on Wednesday.

A woman was allegedly spat on and knocked out cold this morning by a man with a dog on a popular coastal walking route in Brisbane. “The man has allegedly spat on the woman and punched her in the face, causing the woman to lose consciousness and fall to the ground,” police said in a statement

The 68-year-old woman was walking her dog along the foreshore at Sandgate between 7am and 7.30am when she had a disagreement with a man aged in his 30s.

9News understands she had told the man to pick up after his dog but he had refused.

Police say the man spat on the woman and punched her in the face, causing her to fall to the ground unconscious.

The man, described as Caucasian with an olive complexion, and about 180cm tall, was last seen walking towards Second Avenue with his dog, a grey American Staffy.

He was wearing a yellow top, dark pants, and no shoes.

The woman was taken to hospital.

Police are appealing for any witnesses, or anyone with CCTV or dashcam video of the area, to contact police via Policelink on 131 444.
