The woman managed to grab the knife, stab her attacker, and run away.

She flagged down a driver at a set of traffic lights at the intersection of Normanby Avenue and Leicester Grove.

"It's quite frightening. I think he was on a mission and he saw the woman coming and he pursued her," Detective Acting Inspector Janet Mitchell told reporters on Sunday.
