A Perth woman accused of killing her two young daughters has faced a bedside court hearing in hospital after it emerged she was too unwell to face court today.

Milka Djurasovic, 38, was found by police with self-inflicted wounds at Mullaloo Beach hours after the bodies of her daughters, 10-year-old Mia and six-year-old Tiana, were discovered at the family's Madeley home in Perth's northern suburbs late on Friday afternoon.

She was charged with two counts of murder on Sunday, but could not appear in the Perth Magistrates Court in person today due to her ongoing medical care.

She was remanded in custody and is due to appear in court again on November 27.

In a statement to parents and community members, principal Tony Watson said the girls had been "dearly loved and respected" students who would be missed.

He said it had been an "overwhelming and surreal time" and the school's heartfelt sympathy was extended to the family and friends of the girls.

"Although classes will continue as usual, I anticipate that the next few days will be difficult for everyone," he said.

The Education Department has offered counselling for students and teachers.

Messages have also been posted on the Facebook page of a dance school the family attended in the northern Perth suburb of Wangara.

"Sadly we can confirm that we lost a shining light in the tragedy in Madeley on Friday," a post on the Talent Co. Dance and Entertainment page read.

"A popular, kind and beautiful student, she will be greatly missed.

"There are no words to express our sadness at this time and our thoughts and prayers are with the family as they deal with their loss."

It is understood at least one of the girls was due to perform in a dance concert in a few weeks' time.
