Residents in a luxury apartment in south Perth have been left frustrated at not being allowed onto their balconies for nearly two months.

"If I have my nephew come around and he's playing I need to know he's safe out there. It's quite concerning especially for the residents with young children," Mr Gilante said.

The City of South Perth's legal team has told residents "all balconies are to be immediately evacuated and remain unoccupied until further notice".

Residents have taken action, taking a builder to the state administrative tribunal, which will have its first sitting on November 18.

The council of owners at the building believe "the absence of plastic spacers recently installed securing the glass panels may have been the contributing factor".

There are several businesses below that say they have been impacted and left worried of the danger to customers. No formal complaints have been made.
