A childcare worker from western Sydney has been accused of assaulting a four-year-old boy in her care.

Hanan Hamzy is facing an AVO taken out by police on the boy's behalf, after she allegedly forced the boy to sleep by holding his eyes closed, and held his tongue out of his mouth saying: "it is the only way he will learn".

Hamzy, who works at the My Planet Childcare in Guildford, has not been charged, but the AVO means she cannot contact the boy or his family.

According to police documents, it had been reported to the centre director, but nothing had changed.

When questioned by police Hamzy denied the allegations.

Her solicitor told 9News Hamzy will fight the allegations in court.
