Customers at three Australian banks have been left stranded after the bank's mobile and internet banking services were hit by a major outage. St George bank announced just before 9am on Tuesday the services were affected and affiliated banks Bank SA and Bank of Melbourne have reported similar outages.All three institutions have reported they are yet to fix the issue as of 1pm.

The WA Department of Communities has launched an inquiry into the mysterious last-minute shutdown of a popular Perth childcare centre that left hundreds of parents stranded this morning.
Unicare Childhood Education in Crawley is "closed until further notice", according to a sign on the door.
In an email to staff, Unicare's acting chair of the board Jo Newton said senior leaders were "unwell and in their absence, we are unable to safely and lawfully open the centre".
The Communities Department's Education and Care Regulatory Unit said it was aware of an anonymous email sent to parents of children enrolled at the service.

The email makes several allegations regarding the management and governance of the services.
"The email does include some non-specific allegations regarding staffing and record-keeping – areas where ECRU does have a regulatory role," the department said in a statement.
"It should be remembered that areas such as finance, corporate governance and human resources management of services do not fall within ECRU's remit as regulator."
Government officers visited the service earlier this week and were satisfied with the overall standard of supervision for children in its care, the department said.
No matters concerning the safety or wellbeing of children were identified.

The future is now unclear for the 40 full-time staff who remain on full pay.
The childcare workers' union, United Voice, held a meeting with staff this evening.
"United Voice members have been concerned about the operation of the centre for a significant period of time and are disappointed with management's decision to close the centre with no warning to staff or families," the union's assistant secretary Karma Lord said in a statement.
The centre is based at The University of Western Australia campus in Crawley but is independent of the university.
It remains empty, except for three pet ducks and two budgies.
There is no indication of when or if it will reopen.
