The girl appears to be sitting on a chair which has been placed on a ledge of the Wyndham Surfers Paradise, 13 storeys up.She hands something to a young man on the balcony and then walks further along and sits on her legs. © 9News The girl sits on the ledge. She looks in the direction of the camera, possibly aware of the fact she is being filmed by a concerned resident, who then sent the video to 9News.

Surfers Paradise is a coastal suburb within the local government area of City of Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. At the 2011 census, Surfers Paradise had a population of 19,668. Colloquially known as ' Surfers ', the suburb has many high-rise apartment buildings and a wide surf beach.

Surfers Paradise (14 October 1987 - c.1999) was a New Zealand Thoroughbred racehorse who is best remembered for winning the Cox Plate in 1991. By Crested Wave, Surfers Paradise was named after Queensland's iconic beachside strip.

Sonny the horse has become a temporary star attraction in Surfers Paradise, after being stolen from a nearby pony club.

The palamino gelding turned heads on a walk through Chevron Island this afternoon and was even provided with a makeshift paddock, water and plenty of affection.

"Some bloke came up to me asking to buy my horse," owner Lisa Sullings told 9News.

"I said no my horse isn't for sale!"

But the thief didn't listen, stealing Sonny around midday.

Thankfully he wasn't taken far.

"You just don't think someone's going to walk your horse, you know, through Surfers Paradise," she said.

Sonny will now be returned to the pony club.

Young Liberal is disciplined for posing with election signs for rival candidates - just three days after a colleague was suspended over a racist video .
Oscar Green, the treasurer for Young Liberals, had shared photos of himself with posters from Labor and Green party candidates during the last state election. A LNP spokesperson told the ABC the young man had been sanctioned over the photos - but denied the signs had been stolen. 'The party takes a very dim view of interference with election material, and the individuals involved had their memberships suspended,' he said.
