Dramatic footage caught on a security camera shows an off-duty police officer rescuing an unconscious driver after he crashed his car into a petrol station.
Father of five Damian Reid was driving along Womma Road in Adelaide's northern suburb of Penfield, when he came across a shocking car crash.
A white Holden Astra had crashed into a BMW travelling in the opposite direction, before slamming into a tree and bursting into flames.
The collision happened just after 6pm on Thursday night.
Mr Reid was among the witnesses who rushed to the driver's aid and, despite being faced with a jammed door and knee-high flames, he and another passer-by managed to pull the unconscious victim from the wreckage.

"The door eventually opened up and the seatbelt jammed so we had to wriggle that around for a fair while," Mr Reid told 9News.
"The flames were getting bigger and the other bloke who helped got his legs burnt, so hopefully he's alright. But we eventually got him out, dragged him about 30 metres away and that's when the car sort of went up in flames."
The injured driver - a 23-year-old man from the northern suburbs - was rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
The other rescuer received burns to his legs is also in the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
The driver of the BMW was not injured.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
