A woman was walking her dogs, Sootie and Timmy, at 10pm in The Rocks, when she sat on a bench on the corner of Argyle and Kent Streets.

She was approached by a man with a dog, which began barking and growling at her animals.

Sootie growled back and the man kicked him in the face so hard, it knocked out his front teeth.

The man is Caucasian, in his 60s, about 170cm tall, and of medium build with grey hair.

He was wearing black clothes.

Witnesses or anybody who recognises the man should contact police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
