  Airbnb looking for 100 of the best home chefs for a trip NEW YORK (AP) — Airbnb is launching a global search for 100 top home cooks and treating them to a trip to Italy to learn how to refine their recipes with teachers including David Chang and his mom. The lucky chosen will travel to the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Pollenzo, Italy, for a week’s worth of workshops and tastings to take their food “to the next level.” Their recipe will also feature in Airbnb’s first cookbook. Applications open Monday. Airbnb users who are 18 and a resident of one of 30 or so eligible countries can nominate their favorite home cooks and complete an essay. Applications close Dec. 23.

A 73-year-old woman has escaped serious injury after a van ploughed through the wall of her home. Annie Burrell was knocked from her chair when the Citroen Berlingo smashed into her kitchen last night. She said: "I was sitting in the chair and all of a sudden my back window came in.

"I was worried about Cateana and the young girl who had the accident."

Ms Young said her neighbour somehow managed to make her way from the house through a severely damaged front door.

"She was sitting in her lounge room and the car came through the window," she said.

CCTV shows the black SUV swerving across Joan Street moments before the impact.

Neighbours have told 9News that the young mother behind the wheel had been shaking in shock, and a man and child were in the passenger seats of the car with her.

An investigation into what caused her to lose control on a straight, empty back-street at 7pm is underway.

The 83-year-old woman is staying with her family until her home is repaired.

Hours later in Niddrie, the same firefighters were called to clean up after a white Mazda sedan that had reversed into a vacant home at speed.

Police are investigating whether the driver and passenger were intoxicated at the time.

"Fortunately there were no occupants in the premises and no one is injured and it is under investigation," MFB Commander Roger Chitty said.

"This is the second car into a house that we've had tonight and can I say that it's happening more and more,

"That'll be under investigation by the Victoria Police as well."

No one was injured in either incident.
