A 97-year-old man died after a crash involving his mobility scooter and a car. The man was on Wide Lane, Eastleigh, when his scooter and a Ford Fiesta crashed on 1 May. Police said the man was taken to Southampton General Hospital, where he died in the early hours of Saturday.

Emergency services were called to Rosebud this morning, following reports of a collision between a car and a mobility scooter.

Police believe the crash occurred on Boneo Road near Grenfell Way just before 10.20am.

The man on the mobility scooter could not be revived and died at the scene.

The driver and a passenger of the car were uninjured and stopped to assist.

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
