Dr Coleman said the closure will allow ACT Health to complete contact tracing and cleaning.

ACT Education Minister Yvette Berry said the school's staff, students, parents and carers are not required to self-quarantine at home, unless they have already been contacted directly by ACT Health, or are feeling unwell.

It comes as the ACT Government today announced a comprehensive shutdown of non-essential services over the next 48-hours, with primary and secondary school students to transition to an online, alternative learning program.

Schools will go pupil-free from Tuesday, with teachers and staff to remain.

"Our school community and particularly teachers, are getting more and more anxious, and that's making it difficult for them to offer a great education in person," Ms Berry said.
