  Hero tradies take down a knife-wielding robber who tried to steal cash from a woman at an ATM in an incredible citizen's arrest The incident happened on Melbourne's Smith Street on Monday morning after a 34-year-old woman had used an ATM to withdraw money.  As she removed the cash from the machine, she was approached by the man allegedly holding a knife. The two construction workers leaped into action after hearing the woman scream. The men, aged 22 and 30, chased after the alleged robber, pinning him to the ground before kicking away his knife. Stunned onlookers watched as the two men in hi-vis clothing held the man on the ground until police arrived.

As the man fled , weaving through crowds and darting between cars, he threatened bystanders, witnesses said. The police gave chase, eventually Paul J. Browne, the chief police spokesman, said officers used pepper spray six times to try to halt the man , who repeatedly threatened officers with a

Police say a man dropped a bag with a 15cm knife, gaffer tape, and a rope when he fled from security outside a government building this week.  

The Perth District Police Force have released an image of a man they allege was loitering outside the Main Roads building in Perth on Wednesday afternoon.

The man was allegedly looking into car windows but fled when security guards approached.

A search of his bag uncovered a series of suspicious items, including pre-loaded zip ties.

He was last seen on Plain street, East Perth at  4.30pm on Wednesday 24 June.
