The Ekka might be cancelled this year but one of the most popular parts of the Royal Queensland show will go on.

Twenty of the most popular bags are available now from IGA supermarkets across Queensland.

"This year the Ekka wasn't able to go ahead but we've been lucky enough to secure thousands of showbags across IGA stores for sale," spokesperson David Kindt, from the Mount Cotton store, said.

"We've got all sorts … Hot Wheels, Peppa Pig, as well as all the confectionary favourites."

Mr Kindt said the deal with Chicane, the company behind the showbags, was aligned with the company's philosophy of giving back to the community.

"Obviously there's a surplus of bags ready and looking for a home (and it's) school holidays this week so we thought why not get on board and give the kids something to get excited about," he said.
