A Test team of players who never played any Tests

A Test team of players who never played any Tests A few weeks ago I wrote an article for The Roar where I formed a strong Test team of 12 players picking up exactly one player from each full member nations of ICC. I am going to do the same again here, except that here none of the players have ever played an official Test match for their country. All of them probably had the talents to become Test match players, but luck wasn’t in their favour. Players like Mahadevan Sathasivam (Sri Lanka) and Arthur Fisher (New Zealand) had ended their playing career well before their respective countries were granted Test status.

The Australia cricket team were originally scheduled to tour England in July 2020 to play three One Day International (ODI) and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. The ODI matches will form part of the inaugural 2020–22 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League.

Flying in additional mid-tour replacements won't be practical nor possible given the COVID-19 pandemic and various protocols that have allowed the tour to go ahead.

They will board a charter flight in Perth on August 23, with players from every state given government approval to transit in Western Australia on the same date. They will land in London, head straight to Derby for some tune-ups before playing three Twenty20s and three ODIs against England. The touring party will stay in hotels that are built into grounds' grandstands, ensuring they never have to leave the biosecurity bubble for training or games.

Some players will board a charter flight to the United Arab Emirates for the Indian Premier League, others will head home directly. They will serve the mandatory two-week quarantine period upon touching down in Australia. However, Cricket Australia is hoping to negotiate a concession that will allow players to leave hotels to train. That issue is particularly pertinent for fast bowlers, who are at increased risk of injury if they can't build up workloads before the home Test summer.

FOR years Australia have mocked touring England cricket teams for their imported talent with names that were resonant of far flung parts of the old empire. At one end was Graeme Swann, as English as a bulldog; born in Northampton with his family roots in the North-east and a cricket education steeped

James Anderson takes 5-fer as England force Pakistan into follow-on .
Jimmy Anderson held his head in his hands and slumped in disbelief at the agonising misfortune that kept him waiting for the magical milestone of 600 Test wickets which seemed inevitable.Nothing appeared more certain than Anderson yesterday becoming the first seam bowler in Test history to reach 600 wickets when he quickly added Asad Shafiq to his three cheap victims from the second evening to leave Pakistan reeling at 30 for four.
