Flights into Western Australia have skyrocketed to as much as $3,800 for a one-way ticket after the state finally announced travellers from New South Wales and Victoria could enter without quarantining.

WA Premier Mark McGowan announced the relaxed border restrictions on Tuesday, after Victoria went 28 days without a community case of coronavirus last week.

Victoria and NSW will be categorised as 'very low risk' under WA's controlled borders from December 8, joining the ACT, Queensland, Northern Territory and Tasmania.

Shortly after the announcement was made, prices for flights into the state jumped to thousands of dollars, with some even adding extra stops.

'We continue to our call for a consistent set of rules that apply nationwide.'

Virgin has also announced that an additional 30 flights between Western Australia and eastern states will commence by January.

'The broader economic contribution that open borders will bring cannot be underestimated in what has been the most difficult year for many businesses, particularly in the tourism and hospitality industries,' Virgin Australia chief executive officer and Managing Director Jayne Hrdlicka said.

South Australia is now the only state locked out of WA. They will be categorised as 'medium risk' until at least December 11.

Visitors to WA from 'very low risk' state and territories will be required to follow a number of conditions upon entry.

All arrivals at Perth Airport will undergo a health screening and temperature test on arrival and travellers must be prepared to take a Covid-19 test at the airport if asked by a health professional.

Travellers are also required to complete a G2G pass which declares they don't have any Covid-19 symptoms and advises where they have been in the past 14 days.

Land arrivals will undergo health screening at the border checkpoint and their G2G pass will be checked.

Visitors must also confirm they haven't mixed with anyone from SA before entering WA.
