The government wants to introduce advance polling in 2022 © Copyright 2021, L'Obs The government tabled on Tuesday February 16 in the Senate an amendment intended to allow advance voting for the presidential election of 2022, which would constitute a first in France if it is adopted by parliamentarians.

A former Liberal Minister Ian Campbell has told Sky News West Australian Premier Mark McGowan deserves to be re-elected at the coming state election.

Mr Campbell says the Labor government's strong ties with the corporate sector has meant the WA Liberals are no longer the natural home of business, as traditional allies desert the party.

“It would be, I think, inconvincible for the Liberal Party to have a chance of winning this election,” he said.

Mr Campbell now works in the corporate sector and told Sky News the Labor government has been good for Western Australia.

Recent polls suggest WA Labor is heading towards its biggest ever state election victory and Liberal leader Zak Kirkup has dramatically conceded his party cannot win.

The chancellor is set to extend the wage support scheme, while more self-employed will be eligible for help.Chancellor Rishi Sunak said the scheme - which pays 80% of workers' wages - would help millions through "the challenging months ahead".
