WA moves Vic travel to 'low risk'

WA moves Vic travel to 'low risk' Travel into Western Australia from Victoria will from 12.01am on Saturday be permitted with 14 days of self-quarantining and COVID-19 testing. Victoria's five-day lockdown was announced last week amid fears the highly-infectious UK strain of COVID-19 had spread from the Holiday Inn quarantine hotel at Melbourne Airport into the community. The outbreak now stands at 19 cases, while almost 3500 close contacts remain in isolation. WA Premier Mark McGowan said his state's call on Victorian travellers entering WA followed the latest health advice and Victorian health authorities controlling the outbreak.

Additionally, this was the first Senate special election not held in an off year that resulted in a flip to one party since 2010,[9] and the Jon Kyl, former U. S . Senator , former U. S . Representative for Arizona' s 4th congressional district and former Senate on whether McSally deserves to be re - elected . ^ The Justice Collaborative Project is an affiliate of the Tides Centre, a liberal fiscal sponsorship provider.

Liberal Democrat leadership elections officially use the single transferable vote system, but they are effectively conducted under the alternative vote, as there is only one winner. All party members are entitled to vote under a one member, one vote method.[15] Candidates must be an MP, and must be Between the final two candidates, Moran is considered to be the more left-wing.[40] Alongside former leader Nick Clegg and many of the Lib Dems who served in the governing Conservative-Lib Dem coalition of 2010–2015, Davey is associated with the party ' s right-wing Orange Booker branch.

It is “inconceivable" the WA Liberals will win the election and Premier Mark McGowan “deserves” to be re-elected, according to former Liberal government minister Ian Campbell.

Mr Campbell now works in the corporate sector and told Sky News the Labor government has been good for Western Australia.

“They have been - in my experience - incredibly open, they have been assessable, they have a very can-do attitude, they’re very pro getting stuff done in this state,” he said.

Mr Campbell acknowledged Labor’s management of the pandemic has been popular despite February’s snap-lockdown costing hundreds of millions of dollars.

Pfizer coronavirus vaccines to arrive in Perth this weekend with high-risk workers a priority for initial 5,000 doses Western Australia is set to receive its first 5,000 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccine by Sunday night with quarantine and international border workers among the first to be eligible for the shot.WA Premier Mark McGowan said quarantine and international border workers would be among the first West Australians to be eligible for the vaccine.

Mark McGowan is poised to become the next premier of Western Australia on Saturday, but the Labor leader is still struggling to be recognised. While Barnett evokes strong reactions from both supporters and detractors, response to McGowan is mild. He is competent, affable and stubbornly unmemorable; a Clark Kent who does not know how to turn into superman. At a campaign shopping centre visit in Perth’s northern suburbs this week, a woman who had stopped to shake McGowan ’ s hand remarked that he seemed like a nice man.

Mr McGowan — rather than the state — chose to bring the case, but it is standard practice for the legal bills of premiers and ministers to be covered by taxpayers when the case relates to their official duties. And with slander and libel lawsuits lengthy battles at the best of times, much less when the foe has "I did not realise we elected a princess at the 2017 election ." That gender-driven language effectively neutered the Liberal attack though, with the Opposition quietly retreating after Mr Kirkup' s description was blasted as "offensive" by the Government and even earned a public rebuke from White Ribbon

“I thought it was an overaction, but my thoughts are totally irrelevant because most West Australians would disagree with me,” he said.

This comes after recent polls suggested WA Labor is heading towards its biggest ever state election victory - leading Liberal leader Zak Kirkup to dramatically concede his party cannot win.

“The Liberal Party will bounce back from this - they just need to keep doing the hard yards,” Mr Campbell said.
