In September last year, officers from Redfern Region Enforcement Squad (RES) established Strike Force Caprera to investigate the supply of methylamphetamine (ice) and cultivation of cannabis across Sydney.

Following extensive investigations, Redfern RES investigators executed 14 search warrants at Bankstown, Bass Hill, Cabramatta West, Canley Vale, Dundas, Guilford, Mount Pritchard, Riverwood, Sefton and Villawood.

TRENTON -- A city man was arrested Tuesday when he was found in possession of more than $ 13 ,000 of OxyContin, marijuana and cash , police said. Redfern RES officers also arrested a 64-year-old Villawood man and a 48-year-old Fairfield man, who have been charged with drugs and ammunition-related offences. 

Earlier this week, as part of Operation Ironside, officers executed search warrants at homes at Bankstown and Luddenham. 

Two 49-year-old men were arrested as a result of the searches. 

Following further inquiries, Redfern RES investigators effected a second phase resolution of Strike Force Caprera, and raided properties at Alexandria, Auburn, Campsie, Haymarket and Rockdale on Thursday.

During the searches, police seized more than $76,000 cash, as well as cocaine, ice, an electronic stun device, mobile phones and other electronic items.

Officers also seized a stolen medical machine valued at more than $100,000.

A 22-year-old man was arrested at Auburn and charged with various offences. He was refused bail to appear at Burwood Local Court on Friday.

A 25-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man were arrested at Alexandria and charged with drugs and firearm offences. 

The pair were refused bail to appear at Central Local Court on Friday.
