Missing UK woman Sarm Heslop has now been gone 3 months; lack of updates 'excruciating,' friends say

Missing UK woman Sarm Heslop has now been gone 3 months; lack of updates 'excruciating,' friends say Sarm Heslop, the U.K. woman last seen at a U.S. Virgin Islands bar with her American boyfriend Ryan Bane, has been missing for three full months as of Tuesday. Friends have said they do not believe she would have run away and gone into hiding on her own and are hoping that someone on St. John witnessed something that investigators can use to crack the case. "Sarm has now been missing for three months, and the lack of news or information is excruciating for her family and friends back home," her friends said in a statement Tuesday.

Police have uncovered what are believed to be human remains at a landfill site more than four months after a young mother went missing.

Ju 'Kelly' Zhang, 33, was last seen on February 1 at her home in Epping, in Melbourne's north, wearing a pink nightgown and slippers.

Her boyfriend, Joon Seong Tan, 35, was charged with Zhang's murder on February 10 this year after he was arrested at Melbourne Airport - but the lack of a body continued to frustrate police.

The human remains were found at a Wollert landfill site about 2pm on Friday, Victoria Police have confirmed. They are yet to be formally identified by DNA experts.

Police also said Ms Zhang's parents flew in several weeks ago from China and were on edge waiting for news after completing their mandatory hotel quarantine.

'I commend the Missing Persons Squad, Crime Command and other members of Victoria Police for their tireless efforts during this investigation,' Crime Command Assistant Commissioner Bob Hill said in a statement.

'Our members have worked under very difficult and trying conditions to ensure that every avenue of enquiry has been exhausted so we could provide answers to Ju's family and friends.

'We know this has been an incredibly difficult and traumatic time for them. We hope that this will bring the closure they need and Ju can finally be laid to rest.'

Missing California woman's husband contests gun violence restraining order, claims he was detained 'illegally'

Missing California woman's husband contests gun violence restraining order, claims he was detained 'illegally' The husband of missing California woman Maya Millete is contesting a gun violence restraining order (GVRO) that was filed against him last month, claiming that his guns were seized illegally by police. Larry Millete also wrote that he was "detained illegally" by Chula Vista police officers during a May 7 search of his home, according to an 80-page response to the GVRO that was filed Monday and obtained by CBS8. "Chula Vista police pulled me over on the 5 freeway in San Diego jurisdiction," Millete wrote in the court filing.

On Tuesday, police formally began to search the Wollert Waste Management Centre - also in Melbourne's north - after receiving intel about the possible remains of Ms Zhang.

Crews in protective bodysuits were spotted trawling through mounds of rubbish, until Friday afternoon's discovery.

Following his arrest, Tan told detectives Ms Zhang left her eight-year-old son at home when she went for a walk with no shoes on.

'At the time the 33-year-old went missing, she was believed to be wearing a pink nightgown and possibly pink slippers,' Victoria Police said in early February.

Investigators also said Ms Zhang's disappearance was 'extremely out of character'.

Just hours before she disappeared, Ms Zhang made a post on social media that included a video of her cooking with her eight-year-old son.

Tan is expected to next appear in court on July 16.
