South Australia has limited the movements of cross-border community members after the confirmation of a COVID case in Mildura, in north-west Victoria.

From midnight, the Victorian cross-border bubble has been reduced from 70 kilometres to 40km, with residents only allowed into SA for work, study, care, essential shopping or to be vaccinated.

Anyone in SA who has been in Mildura since July 11 has been ordered to quarantine for 14 days.

SA Police said only essential travellers would be allowed to cross back and forth from Broken Hill, with Wentworth removed from the bubble.

Queensland

Queensland recorded no new locally acquired cases on Monday and two in hotel quarantine.

Meanwhile, Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has left for Tokyo to make the final bid for Brisbane to host the 2032 Olympics.

More than 800,000 doses were sent to Sydney and almost 100,000 doses to Melbourne.

WA had previously been receiving about 33,000 doses of Pfizer a week.

Australian Capital Territory

We're yet to hear today's case numbers out of the ACT — although, it's been over a year since the Territory recorded its last case of community transmission.

However, ACT education officials are making plans for schools in the event of another lockdown in Canberra.

The deputy director general of the Education Directorate, David Matthews, says schools are prepared for a range of circumstances, including remote learning.

"What we've learnt from the experience of other states and territories is that we need to be ready to move quickly if required," he said.
