Eight people were killed , four of them children , in a 22-vehicle pileup along a west-central Utah highway over the weekend when motorists were blinded by a wind-whipped dust storm, police said on Monday. Ten injured survivors were transported to area hospitals, three of them in critical condition, authorities said. The dead included a 15-year-old from Arizona who was a passenger in a Cadillac, as well as three younger children from Utah — aged 12, 6 and 2 — who were killed along with two adult members of their family in a separate car, police said.

Police and emergency services were called to the Augusta Highway at Baroota, near Port Germein, about 3:40pm, following reports a Holden ute had left the road and crashed into a tree.

A 40-year-old man, who was the driver of the ute, and his 61-year-old front passenger, both of Whyalla Norrie, died at the scene.

The two other passengers, a 14-year-old boy and an 11-year-old boy, were flown to the Royal Adelaide Hospital.

The 14-year-old boy is in a critical condition, while the 11-year-old boy is stable.

Both are from Whyalla Playford.

Major Crash officers are investigating.

The road has reopened.

The deaths bring the number of people killed on South Australia's roads this year to 60, compared with 55 at the same time last year.

Rescued American Girl, 8, Says She Was Beaten and Abused in ISIS Camp .
Two weeks after she was rescued from alleged ISIS supporters in a camp in Northern Syria, a sweet little girl who was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, explained that she was all alone in the world—and knew nothing of her parents. “I only know that my mom died, and my dad died,” the girl, Aminah, said in an American accent. Her little face is inscrutable, like a mask hiding the trauma of being the sole survivor of an aerial bombardment that killed her mother, two of her little brothers, and another of her stepfather’s wives. She has scars on her body from surviving that blast.
