SAS Australia's chief instructor Ant Middleton has finally weighed in on a long-running rumour about season two recruit Sam Burgess. In June, Fox Sports alleged that the NRL star, 32, had sensationally 'choked out' an instructor during a 'kidnapping' exercise for the upcoming season of the military-style Seven show. According to the publication, producers had to call an ambulance after Burgess put one of his 'abductors' in a head lock during the high-pressure challenge.

The former Neighbours star, 27, said the relationship, which began in her teens, was a defining moment in her life.
'I was about 18 and I met this guys that I fell in love with. He just kind of threw me through the absolute ringer, and I feel like that was the moment where I learned more about myself than I ever had,' she told the instructors during an interrogation.
'So I think that's the most defining moment for me and I think that was a big part of why I am on this course,' she added.

'Honestly I've been struggling. I have been, obviously you can see, just trying to switch my brain off,' she said.

'I remember going for Neighbours and I auditioned three times and I didn't get it until the fourth time. So, for me, if you get knocked back, you just get back up again, it's as simple as that. You just fight harder,' she added.
