“Importantly, we’re providing $5,000 grants to 5,000 … businesses on a first-in, first serve basis, who want to embrace Alfresco dining, who want to move the inside to the outside,” Mr Perrottet said at a media conference on Thursday.
“There’s no reason why this should be something that’s just limited to Europe, we want to have it here in Sydney and right across our state.
“We want our businesses to be free and to flourish, we want people right across the state to enjoy the best that New South Wales has to offer.”
Mr Perrottet also announced up to $500,000 grants will be offered to councils to improve their high streets and amenities in preparation for the return to the social economy.
