An 82 -year-old woman has died after falling on a bus in Edinburgh. The woman had been travelling on the number three Lothian bus earlier this month when it had to brake suddenly and she Police said they had traced the driver of a car seen in the area at the time. They urged witnesses to contact them.

An elderly woman has died in hospital after she hit the ground while walking on a pedestrian crossing in Sydney's northwest, with police now investigating whether she was hit by a car.

The 82-year-old woman was taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition on Tuesday afternoon after she was found in the car park in Carlingford, but died early on Wednesday morning.

Police were treating the car park where she was hit as a crime scene on Tuesday as they looked into the possibility she was hit by a car before she fell.

A 64-year-old female driver was taken to Ryde Hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests following the incident.
