Anzac Day is a time to reflect on the servicemen and servicewomen , past and present, who have displayed courage and self-sacrifice serving our country.

(AAP) Australian servicewomen who have participated in a range of conflicts have been granted a one-off opportunity to lead the march, to acknowledge their contributions, the Daily Telegraph reports.

The decision follows last year’s expansion of the definition of ‘veterans’ to include overseas servicemen or women who had received an honourable discharge or were discharged on medical grounds, allowing for the recognition of many service people who had previously been unacknowledged.
