A manhunt is under way after two young teenagers were found shot dead in their bedrooms in Sydney ’ s north - west on Thursday evening. A woman in her 30s, believed to be the children 's mother, arrived shortly after police.

Two children have reportedly been shot dead at a home in Sydney ’ s West Pennant Hills. New South Wales Police was called to the home at Hull Road, just off Cumberland Highway in Sydney ’ s north - west , about 5.20pm on Thursday.

A woman, reportedly the mother of the children, has also been injured in the incident and is being treated by paramedics.

Emergency services were called to a property on Hull Road in West Pennant Hills about 5.20pm on Thursday following reports of a shooting.

An ambulance spokesman told Fairfax Media seven ambulances attended the home.

Paramedics also used a helicopter to transport patients to hospital.

The road is expected to be closed off for hours as police investigate the incident.

John Edwards was able to pursue his handgun training despite his answers on a declaration form raising flags in the system. "With a history like his there is no way he ever should have been given the Commissioner’s Permit," said Shooters, Fishers and Farmers Party MP Robert Borsak.
