Police spokesman Adam Brouwer said the boy and the girl stepped off the bus after it stopped on Talbot Road near Dongara Circle just after 4pm.

As the pair tried to cross the road in front of the bus an Isuzu truck passed and hit the two children.

Both were rushed to Midland Hospital and the boy has since been brought to Perth Children's Hospital.

Officers from the Traffic Enforcement Group are investigating the serious crash and would like to speak with anyone who saw what happened.
