  Elderly woman killed by garbage truck in Sydney's north-west A woman has died after she was hit by a garbage truck this afternoon, while three other pedestrians were involved in separate accidents across Sydney.Emergency services were called to Claremont Crescent in Windsor shortly after 5pm on Monday afternoon following reports of a crash.

16 - year - old girl has died in WA's Great Southern region early this morning after being struck by a car she was while walking with a group of people. About 1.30am a vehicle travelling along Davis Road in Monjingup, about nine kilometres north of Esperance, struck the group of pedestrians .

16-year-old girl has died in WA's Great Southern region early this morning after being struck by a car she was while walking with a group of people.

About 1.30am a vehicle travelling along Davis Road in Monjingup, about nine kilometres north of Esperance, struck the group of pedestrians.

The girl received critical injuries and was taken to the Esperance Hospital where she later died.

A 19-year-old man was assisting police with their inquiries and major crash officers were investigating if speed was a factor in the crash.

A suicide attack claimed by the Taliban killed three foreign soldiers on patrol in eastern Afghanistan on Sunday, the deadliest assault on US-led NATO troops for many months. "Three Resolute Support service members were killed by a suicide bomber during a combined, dismounted patrol with Afghan forces in eastern Afghanistan," NATO's Resolute Support mission said in a statement. A US member of the patrol and two Afghan soldiers were wounded, it said, without giving the nationality of those killed.
