The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have sent a personal letter of thanks to a royal fan who congratulated the couple on the birth of their first child.
Archie Mountbatten Windsor was born on May 6 and barely a month later, the couple have sent letters to those who had reached out.
One of those was royal fan Gertrude Daly, who described the note as "a lovely reply".
"The reply arrived just under a month after I had written. This is a very excellent and a bit surprising of response time," Daly wrote of the letter, on her.

The response to Ms Daly's original letter was penned by Claudia Spens, the head of correspondence at Clarence House where the Duke and Duchess of Sussex continue to have their office. But the letter itself was written on stationary bearing the Kensington Palace insignia.
The letter read: "The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have asked me to thank you for your letter of 8th May.

Duchess Meghan’s New Diamond Ring From Prince Harry Was an Anniversary Gift
Royally romantic! The diamond ring Duchess Meghan showed off during her first post-baby appearance on Saturday, June 8, was a gift from Prince Harry. Following the outing, fans speculated that the 37-year-old’s sparkler might have been a push present from Harry, 34, following the birth of their first child, son Archie, in May. A source, however, tells Us Weekly that the pavé-set ring is actually “an eternity ring/anniversary gift” from the Duke of Sussex.
"Their Royal Highnesses have asked me to send you their warmest thanks and best wishes."
Ms Daly said that in her letter to Harry and Meghan, she had explained the "personal reasons" for choosing to donate to The Rainforest Alliance.
Members of the royal family always reply to those who have taken the time to write for important events, often taking months to reply to the thousands of letters received.
Following their wedding in May 2018, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex sent a black and white portrait from their special day, along with a thoughtful message, to fans who had written notes of congratulations.
