And now it seems someone within the establishment has given her a cruel nickname – specifically a senior royal, according to the Sunday Times.
The outlet reports the Duchess of Sussex has been branded “the degree wife”, as they believe her marriage to Prince Harry will “only last three years”.
Unfortunately it’s not the first time reports have emerged about the 37-year-old being given unflattering nicknames.
It has been claimed Meghan was previously nicknamed ‘Duchess Difficult’ by staff, and more recently, as reported by Tatler, some Kensington Palace staff members were calling the former Suits actress ‘Me-Gain’, due to her apparent self-serving nature.
However, the former press secretary to the Queen, Dickie Arbiter, previously labelled such nicknames “particularly nasty”.
"What it doesn’t say is that Meghan and Harry have Prince Charles' support so much so that [he] has agreed for them to move out of Kensington Palace to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor," Arbiter told the Today show in March.
Despite the reported cruel nicknames, there’s someone Meghan has unwavering support and admiration from – besides her husband, of course – and that’s her father-in-law, Prince Charles.
Royal insiders revealed last year the Prince of Wales nicknamed his daughter-in-law ‘Tungsten’, which is a super strong metal.
While it may seem like an unconventional pet name, it’s reportedly meant to signify how Meghan is “tough and unbending”.
We most certainly agree with that.
