Man Charged With Selling Fatal Counterfeit Pills To Rapper Mac Miller A man has been charged with supplying drugs to musician Mac Miller two days before he died of an overdose at the age of 26 last year. According to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Cameron James Pettit has been charged with one count of distribution of a controlled substance. It’s alleged that Pettit had agreed to supply Miller with 30 milligram oxycodone pills in the days before his death, as well as cocaine and the anti-anxiety medication Xanax. However, he’s believed to have sold the musician pulls containing fentanyl, an opioid 50 times more potent than heroin.

In April 2018 — shortly after doing an eight-month stint in prison for bankruptcy fraud — Miller underwent emergency spinal surgery for an infection in her spine. Doctors discovered that the cancerous mass pressing on her spinal cord turned out to be Burkitt Lymphoma — a form of non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma that affects the lymphatic system.

After multiple spinal surgeries and 10 rounds of chemotherapy, Miller shared that she was cancer-free in May. But the road to recovery was hard fought.

"When you're that close to death, dying is easy. It's very serious, but it's easy. You're laying there, filled with drugs, they're pumping everything they can into you to keep you alive, you're so out of it you don't even know," she said on the show, before adding in her signature humour, "But they saved me and I'm here so I have to do the best that I can. And I lay in that hospital bed or in rehab and I lay there and I watch TV and I see all of these bad cartwheels in these commercials and there's so much more work for me to do."
