One of HBO's five Game of Thrones spin-off series won't be moving forward as the network has scrapped plans for a prequel show from showrunner Jane Goldman that starred Naomi Watts.

The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that the project, which shot a full pilot episode over the summer, has not been picked up to series, which means that Thrones fans won't be getting to see a series focusing on Westeros' famed Age of Heroes after all.

As it stands, HBO is still considering a second Game of Thrones prequel focusing on the House of Targaryen after it was reported that the broadcaster was close to ordering a pilot for the project last month.
