The Duke and Duchess of Sussex surprised military families at their regular coffee group near their Frogmore Cottage home in Windsor on Wednesday ahead of their attendance to a number of Remembrance Day events this week.

Meeting with young families at the Broom Farm Community Centre, Harry and Meghan talked to them about their experiences as parents and couples who are often apart from their loved ones for months at a time, and with the couple interacting with young children their own son, six-month-old Archie, was unsurprisingly not far from their minds.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were very focused on military service men and women and their families this week.

According to People, as Meghan chatted to a group of children, she told one young girl, "Look at all your little teeth!

"Archie's just got two teeth. Two tiny ones right there," she said, as she pointed to her bottom lip.

Meghan also talked parenting with the other parents, reportedly talking about how Archie was sleeping, teething and crawling.

Speaking to Army & You magazine, Amy Thompson, whose husband is attached to the Welsh Guards said of her conversation with Meghan: "My daughter Aeris is the same age as Archie and we talked about weaning and the children beginning to crawl – she's just a normal mum and it was like talking to a friend."

Harry, Meghan and Archie recently returned from a 10-day tour of southern Africa and are set to take an extended break from royal duties from next week, with many believing they'll spend Thanksgiving with Meghan's mother Doria Ragland in Los Angeles.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex surprised their neighbours by attending an informal coffee morning, as they visited military families in Windsor on Wednesday.

Following the couple's return from their royal tour last month, Meghan also revealed Archie has been attending playgroup, telling 11-year-old Milly Sutherland and her mum Angela at the annual WellChild Awards that Archie had a "lot of fun" at his first class.

"He loved it," she said at the time.

Speaking to the press after their chat, Angela said Meghan "took him to one of those baby classes today and she said they had loads of fun together."

Beginning their Remembrance Day commemorations, Harry and Meghan attended the 91st Field of Remembrance service at Westminster Abbey on Thursday, where they planted a Cross of Remembrance to pay respect to those who served in the Armed Forces.

Meghan wore a midnight blue coat by Sentaler paired with a matching fascinator by Philip Treacy, while Prince Harry wore his Household Division ceremonial uniform.

The Duchess of Cornwall was originally scheduled to also attend the ceremony however she unfortunately couldn't make it due to a chest infection. A spokesperson from Clarence House told People: "The Duchess of Cornwall has been told by her doctor to cancel her engagements owing to a chest infection which has got progressively worse over the last few days."
