Earlier this year, Swift accused Scott Borchetta — the president of her former record label, Big Machine Records — of selling Braun the rights to her music without her knowledge. Borchetta and Braun both claimed that Swift knew of the deal but didn't act on it, and so a game of He Said, She Said played out publicly between the trio.
Now, in a new interview with Music Week, Swift hinted that it was the alleged behind-the-scenes drama that led to her writing an open letter back in June, in which she accused Braun of "manipulative bullying".

Tonight’s Bachelorette Cocktail Party Was Basically Just One Big Fiery Mess
It's hard to know exactly where to start when it comes to discussing tonight's cocktail party on The Bachelorette. So much happened with the span of approximately 15 minutes that it was difficult to even find time to catch a breath. Suffice to say, it would not be an exaggeration to call it one of the most dramatic cocktail parties of all time. The night of pure chaos all began when Haydn was asked to leave prior to the rose ceremony. Having admitted on a child rearing themed group date that he wasn't interested in having kids, the writing was on the wall that he and Angie were not the right fit for each other.

Swift’s musical career went from strength to strength. The next was “Red” (2012), her fourth album and another multi-platinum hit. “I called it Red because of the tumultuous, crazy adventures in love and loss that it chronicles," Swift said in an interview. The album included chart busters such as “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” “Red,” “22" and "I Knew You Were Trouble."

"Red" scored the second-largest sales total for a female artist behind Britney Spears' 2000 album, "Oops! ... I Did It Again." That year, she beat the likes of Justin Bieber, Rihanna and Lady Gaga to top Forbes' Highest-Paid Celebrities Under 30 list.
In the fall of 2014, Swift released her fifth album "1989," which created history by becoming the first album to sell 1 million copies in its first week. The album featured hits such as “Blank Space,” “Bad Blood,” “Shake It Off” and “Wildest Dreams.” The singer won three Grammy Awards for "1989" — Album of the Year, Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Music Video for "Bad Blood."

"That meant so much to me because it was given over to me so freely," Swift said of her new label under which she released her new album, Lover. "When someone just looks at you and says, 'Yes, you deserve what you want', after a decade or more of being told, 'I'm not sure you deserve what you want' — there's a freedom that comes with that. It's like when people find 'The One' they're like, 'It was easy, I just knew and I felt free.' And that made me feel I could make an album that was exactly what I wanted to make."
In Swift's now-famous open letter, she said she was "grossed out" that her music legacy was now in the wrong hands.
"I learned about Scooter Braun's purchase of my masters as it was announced to the world. All I could think about was the incessant, manipulative bullying I've received at his hands for years," she wrote. "Now Scooter has stripped me of my life's work, that I wasn't given an opportunity to buy. Essentially, my musical legacy is about to lie in the hands of someone who tried to dismantle it.
"This is my worst case scenario. This is what happens when you sign a deal at fifteen to someone for whom the term 'loyalty' is clearly just a contractual concept. And when that man says 'Music has value', he means its value is beholden to men who had no part in creating it," she added.
