On Wednesday night Brant labelled Gallen a 'd***head' after watching the pre-fight press conference between the two football stars.

Gallen has been the most vocal in the lead up to Friday's fight, taunting Hall and particularly taking issue with the stipulation they fight rounds of two - not three - minutes.

The newly-retired NRL star continued his relentless trash talk at Crown Promenade, with Hall becoming visibly fired up.

'As we know, Barry has been involved in one of the infamous king hits in AFL footy,' Gallen said, referencing Hall's brutal punch to the chin of former West Coast defender Brent Staker.

'How do you think he'll go this time when his opponent has the opportunity to fight back?'

Following the press conference, Brant was asked if she'd ever seen Hall as angry at home as he appeared to be while listening to Gallen's jibes.

'If I was as big a d***head as Paul Gallen he probably would be,' Brant told The Daily Telegraph.

'He sure is a unique opponent. I guess he's trying to get publicity.'

Hall has copped Gallen's verbal attacks for weeks, including being given the nickname 'Noodles' - with Gallen claiming Hall insisted on fighting two minute rounds.

During Wednesday's press conference, Hall said Gallen was simply looking for excuses in case he lost the bout.

'I will turn it back on him in saying all these excuses he's been coming up with, there's a little seed of doubt there in his mind that if he loses to someone 42 years of age, in their pro debut, where does that leave him?' Hall said.

'I've got no doubt that he thinks he can win the fight but I think he's just looking for a few excuses now, that if he does, he can fall back on them. And from my point of view, mentally, that's a weakness.'

Hall took issue when Gallen interrupted while he was speaking to chide him for not doing more to spruik the fight.

'Shut up, mate. I'm sick of hearing the b***shit,' said Hall.

Gallen, who is the betting favourite, insisted he wasn't feeling the pressure and mocked Hall for sparring with cruiserweights, saying he wouldn't be able to handle the power of heavyweight boxing.

Hall (194cm) responded with a decent jab of his own about the former Cronulla captain's height (180cm).

'We had to get cruiserweights because there was no one that short,' said Hall.

Hall is in his first professional fight after previously boxing at an amateur level as a teenager but he was happy with his seven-week training program.

'I've been sitting down my punches, I've improved out of sight in seven weeks.'

Brant is new to the world of boxing and says she isn't a fan of the sport, but the former Hi-5 star will be ringside to support her partner in the ring on Friday night.

'As a loving partner it's going to be hard watching because I'm not a fan of the sport,' Brant said.

'He loves it. He's been shadow boxing around the house since I first met him.'

Gallen claims cross-code boxing bout is set up for Hall to win

Paul Gallen believes his fight in Melbourne next week with Barry Hall is an ambush set up for the AFL legend to win.

The former rugby league great will take on Hall on Friday week in a fight dubbed the 'Code War' and Gallen says he's up against more than just Hall in the ring.

The fight is being held in the AFL heartland - in a city where Gallen's former NRL club Cronulla are despised after beating Melbourne in the 2016 grand final as well as a rumoured personal feud with Storm skipper Cameron Smith.

Gallen wins no new Melbourne fans

Gallen wins no new Melbourne fans Paul Gallen didn't win any new fans in Melbourne after saying he should have won his Code War fight against Barry Hall, which was scored a majority draw. The Friday night fight at Margaret Court Arena was declared a majority draw after two judges scored it that way while one gave former NRL star Gallen the win.

It's been held at a time that didn't suit Gallen, who had to juggle training with a speaking tour to the UK which was supposed to double as an end-of-career trip away with mates.

Hall also got his wish for six two-minute rounds rather than three minute, and the former key forward is being trained by the promoter, Danny Green's long-time trainer Angelo Hyder.

'I definitely feel like this is a fight set up for Barry without a doubt,' Gallen told AAP.

'He's got everything he wanted - the rounds - he's basically shit-canned everyone I've fought yet he only wants to fight two minute rounds because he's 42.

'It's going to be pro-Barry crowd - it's clear to see it's heavily weighted in his favour so I've got to go down there and knock him out.

'I'm going to put to bed all of this chat that Barry could have, or should have or still can be a champion boxer.'

While in the UK, Gallen, who has had nine fights (5KO), sparred with the likes of Hughie Fury, who is the cousin of former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury as well as up-and-coming Hull boxer Sonny Taylor, who stands the same height as Hall.

He also got into the ring with Rocky Fielding, who late last year lost a WBA super middleweight title fight to Canelo Alvarez.

'To be able to train with guys like that and see the work they do was good,' the 38-year-old said.

'I've prepared well and I'm going to ruin everyone's night next week.'
