While becoming the Duchess of Sussex has changed her life in myriad ways, one thing Meghan has carried on is her habit of sending letters, often in her distinctive handwriting.

Now, the royal mum has delighted a classroom of English schoolchildren by sending them personal notes.

As part of their unit on Black History Month, a Year 3-4 class at Woodlands Community Primary School in Birkenhead, Merseyside wrote letters addressed to the Duchess.

A selection of the pupils' notes were then posted to the Duchess, with an unexpected (and very happy) result: a package from the palace.

An introductory letter from Buckingham Palace correspondence staffer Claudia Spens to teacher Miss Fleetwood thanks the class for taking the time to write to Meghan.

"I am writing to thank you for your recent letter and enclosures in connection with The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's visit to Birkenhead, Merseyside in January," Spens writes.

"Their Royal Highnesses very much enjoyed their visit to Birkenhead and greatly appreciated the warm welcome they received. I am so glad that the children were able to meet The Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

It appears the Duchess also included a photo taken during her royal tour of Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific.

While it appears the letters sent to the classroom weren't penned by hand, Meghan is famously fond of a hand-written note.

She even worked as a freelance calligrapher while establishing herself as an actress, and would often post images of notes she'd penned to her now-defunct Instagram.
