The One Show was missing a major guest on Friday night (January 17).

The BBC One chat show had announced that former Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe would be a special guest on the episode alongside Alan Cumming, his co-star in the West End's Endgame.

Unfortunately though, Alex Jones and guest presenter Chris Ramsey told viewers that Daniel "was supposed to be here" but hadn't actually turned up for the show.

"Apparently he heard Matt [Baker] wasn't hosting tonight and he just dropped it," Ramsey joked.

But Daniel Radcliffe looked worlds away from his alter-ego as he left London's Noel Coward Theatre after his performance in The Cripple of Inishmaan on Looking decidedly on edge as he emerged from the stage door, the 23-year-old actor's pale and gaunt appearance will have no doubt sparked

Cumming then more seriously explained that Radcliffe actually wasn't feeling well enough to make it to the TV appearance.

"We're in this play together at the Old Vic, and we're in rehearsals for Endgame, and he got a bit 'sicky' today, he was a big poorly," Alan explained. "He's just kinda resting up tonight because we're back in tomorrow.

"He apologises and wants to say he's absolutely fine. Really! Please don't send out any search parties."

"We hope he gets well soon," Alex piped in.

While Daniel might not be making his TV appearances at the moment, the wild and violent trailer for his upcoming action-thriller Guns Akimbo did arrive earlier this week.

The 30-year-actor is unwillingly sent into the middle of a deadly game where he must kill or be killed in the film written and directed by Jason Lei Howden.

The One Show airs Mondays through Fridays on BBC One at 7pm.
