According to Deadline, the House of Mouse has decided that it's remaking Bambi into photorealistic CGI (because it wants to make everyone cry again).

To bring the project to digitally-animated life, the studio has roped in Captain Marvel writer Geneva Robertson-Dworet to co-write the script with Lindsey Beer, who worked on the Spider-Man spin-off Silver & Black that was eventually cancelled.

The studio has hired Geneva Robertson-Dworet ( Captain Marvel , Tomb Raider) and Lindsey Beer (Sierra Burgess Is a Loser, Chaos Walking) to pen the screenplay for the live-action remake . Depth of Field, the production banner run by Chris and Paul Weitz and Andrew Miano and which is coming off

Chris Weitz, who helped write Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, is also on board, but he will instead serve as producer alongside his company Depth of Field, which also includes his brother Paul Weitz and Andrew Miano.

Their production company is also working on another Disney remake with Pinocchio, which is apparently being directed by Back to the Future filmmaker Robert Zemeckis.

The next live-action/CGI Disney remake to release will be Mulan, which already looks like it will be quite different from the animated classic.

Mulan is set for release on March 27.
