Emma Roberts will be producing an eight-episode, one-hour Netflix series about a teenage vampire making her very first kill.

The show is based on the YA short story First Kill by Victoria 'V. E.' Schwab, and will be produced by Emma's company Belletrist Productions, according to Deadline.

The story follows the adventures of vampire Juliette, who is tasked with making her very first kill in order to join the ranks of her elite vampire family.

However, it turns out the young woman Juliette decides to go after, Calliope, is a vampire hunter hailing from a family of slayers.

'Both find that the other won't be so easy to kill and, unfortunately, way too easy to fall for,' according to Deadline.

First Kill is a short story appearing in Vampires Never Get Old: Tales with Fresh Bite, a collection of vampire short stories published in September 2020.

The situation was reportedly highly competitive, with Belletrist also obtaining the rights of 18 other entities, according to Deadline.

The company is also adapting the Carola Lovering novel Tell Me Lies into a Hulu series as part of a first-look deal Emma has with the company, according to Deadline.
