Princess Beatrice has spoken of her "magical" wedding day in a thank you card sent to a well-wisher who wrote to the royal following her nuptials.

Beatrice, 32, married fiancé Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in a secret wedding in July at Windsor Castle after the coronavirus pandemic meant they couldn't go through with a much larger event that had been planned.

Despite it's reduced size, Beatrice was clearly delighted by the occasion.

She writes in the thank you note: "Thank you so much for the wonderful note you so kindly sent to us on the occasion of our wedding this summer at Royal Lodge. Edo and I had a magical day filled with special moments with our families.

Only a handful of guests attended the wedding, including the bride's grandparents Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip.

Mapello Mozzi's son Wolfie was also in attendance as were Beatrice's parents Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson.

The original wedding was thought to have catered to over 100 people. As the pandemic worsened in the UK and around the world the original date in May was put on hold before the couple shared the news they had wed in secret, posting several photos on social media.
