Opening the awards, Goodrem began with an Acknowledgement of Country while recognising the ceremony's very different setting.

"It really is an absolute honour for me to be here as your host. I feel extremely blessed to have experienced the excitement and magic of many ARIAs and can't wait to see those life-changing moments for tonight's nominees," she said. "They might not all be here in the room but there are celebrations going on all over the place so a big shout out to everyone at their ARIA parties happening here in Sydney and around the world."
