Biden's inauguration day will be unlike any other in history. Here's what to expect.
President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris will be sworn into office in front of the US Capitol around 12 p.m. on January 20. Celebrities Lady Gaga and Jennifer Lopez will perform at the ceremony, Biden's inaugural committee announced on Thursday. Later that evening, Biden and Harris will speak to the nation via a TV special featuring performances by Justin Timberlake, Jon Bon Jovi, and other A-listers. The inauguration is part of a five-day program with multiple virtual and socially-distanced in-person celebrations.
It’s being called the “end of an error”: US President Donald Trump’s term has run out, to be replaced by Joe Biden and incoming vice-president Kamala Harris.
Inauguration day will look very different from previous years, from a huge security presence to limited crowds and an absent outgoing president.

What have Trump and Biden said?

What will Trump’s farewell be like?
Lacklustre. Trump will be breaking all traditions — instead of giving the incoming president and first lady a tour of the White House and heading to the inauguration together, as, Trump is bailing for Florida before Biden is sworn in.

The full list of those pardoned has yet to be released, though, who is awaiting sentencing for firearm offences, is expected to make the list.
Biden is set to make some. On his first day, he’s expected to sign executive orders recommitting the US to the Paris Agreement, ending a ban on immigration from some Muslim-majority nations, issuing a mask mandate on federal property and introducing an eviction ban.
