Jane Fonda to receive Cecil B. deMille lifetime achievement award at Golden Globes
American actor and activist Jane Fonda will get a lifetime achievement award at the Golden Globes ceremony next month, marking a career in film, television and at the forefront of social issues over some 60 years. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), which organises the Golden Globes, said on Tuesday that Fonda would receive its Cecil B. deMille award at the February 28 ceremony. "Her undeniable talent has gained her the highest level of recognition, and while her professional life has taken many turns, her unwavering commitment to evoking change has remained," HFPA president Ali Sar said in a statement.
'The Crown' leads the list of TV nominees for the Golden Globe Awards.
© Bang Showbiz Emma Corrin in 'The Crown' The hit Netflix series has received six nominations in total, including Best Performance By An Actor In A Television Series (Josh O'Connor), Best Performance By An Actress In A Television Series (Olivia Coleman and Emma Corrin) and Best Television Series.
Gillian Anderson and Helena Bonham Carter have also been nominated for the Best Performance By An Actress In A Supporting Role award.
'The Crown' is facing competition from 'Lovecraft Country', 'The Mandalorian', 'Ozark' and 'Ratched' for the Best Television Series gong.

'Normal People' - the romantic drama series starring Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones - has received two nominations, including one for Best Television Limited Series or Motion Picture Made For Television.

Meanwhile, Sacha Baron Cohen's 'Borat Subsequent Moviefilm' has received three nods from the Hollywood Foreign Press.
The mockumentary - which is a sequel to 2006's 'Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan' - is up for the Best Motion Picture, Best Performance By An Actress In A Motion Picture (Maria Bakalova) and Best Performance By An Actor In A Motion Picture (Baron Cohen) awards.
Emerald Fennell, Regina King and Chloé Zhao Make History for Female Directors at 2021 Golden Globes
This year's Globes marks the first time multiple women have been nominated for Best Director.Nomadland director Chloe Zhao, One Night in Miami's Regina King and Promising Young Woman's Emerald Fennell became just the sixth, seventh and eighth women ever to be recognized in the category, alongside David Fincher for Mank and Aaron Sorkin for The Trial of the Chicago 7.
The list of nominees were announced by Sarah Jessica Parker and Taraji P. Henson. The awards ceremony is due to be held on February 28, as part of a bi-coastal broadcast hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.
