NHL hockey games have already used the NHL in the past to introduce new music. Now they used this platform again for a song

At previous hockey events, Green Day were the official band of the NHL and used the games to present new music. For example, they made the single "Fire, Ready, Aim" from their current album public.

On Saturday (February 20, 2021) the big NHL game "Outdoors at Lake Tahoe" took place between the Colorado Avalanche and the Vegas Golden Knights. The band also used this to make another promo for their new song "Here Comes The Shock".

Yes, Now We Know Exactly What It Means to Miss New Orleans

Yes, Now We Know Exactly What It Means to Miss New Orleans Pianist Allen Toussaint was already holed up in New York City on September 21, 2005—driven from New Orleans by the flood resulting from the levee failures following Hurricane Katrina—when he sat down at the piano of Manhattan’s Avatar Studios to record “Yes We Can Can.” Toussaint—the composer, arranger, and producer of hits spanning generations and genres, who died in 2015—wrote that song in 1970 for singer Lee Dorsey, as a message of hope and a call for communal action to heal societal ills. (The Pointer Sisters scored big with it a few years later). He had never recorded it himself, a fact he wasn’t likely thinking about.

Meanwhile singer Billie Joe Armstrong started his own project and released his solo album “No Fun Mondays” last year.

In addition, Green Day is expected to play an headliner show with Weezer in the Wulheide Berlin in June 2021. The band will also grace the line-up at this year's Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park.
