And while Milan Fashion Week autumn/winter '21 may be over, it didn't wrap up without leaving endless inspiration for the beauty obsessives among us.
Unlike previous seasons, however, this week's runway roundup saw designers bid arrive derci to bold, show-stopping makeup and welcome subtler, more undone visages with open arms. Eccentric eye moments were swapped with subdued graphite and simple paint strokes, while classic cat eyes and lash-skimming fringes reigned supreme, leaving room for these tiny beauty moments to take centre stage.

Max Mara: Graphite Eyes
Grab your art supplies because Max Mara is bringing graphite back. Smudging smokey tones of charcoal and olive across each model's eyelids, the label opted for maximum impact from the nose up. To let the models' eyes shine, skin was kept pared back and simple, allowing natural skin to steal the spotlight.
Valentino: Lash-Skimming Fringes
Championing the blunt fringe, Valentino's latest runway saw the fashion house take the hair trend to new lengths—specifically to around lash level. While some models sported the straight and blunt, others donned more side swept options, ending around the ear. Their homage to bangs may have been dramatic, but the trend is surely here to stay.
