Gallery: Special Royal Update: 13 bombshells dropped by Harry and Meghan during their Oprah interview (Daily Mail)
ON MEETING THE QUEEN: Despite the drama surrounding Megxit, Meghan and Harry told Oprah that they still have an excellent relationship with the Queen and that they speak to her regularly via FaceTime and phone calls. Recounting the first time she met Her Majesty, Meghan described her shock when Fergie, the Duchess of York, ran out of the Royal Lodge to make sure Meghan knew how to curtsy before she unexpectedly met the Queen. 'Right in front of the house we practiced and ran in. Fergie ran out and said, 'Do you know how to curtsy?' she recalled. 'Apparently I did a very deep curtsy, I don't remember it, and then we sat there and we chatted.'
HER MAJESTY AND HER BLANKET: Meghan said their first meeting was just the start of a 'wonderful' relationship with Queen Elizabeth II. 'The Queen, for example, has always been wonderful to me. I mean, we had one of our first joint engagements together. She asked me to join her. We had breakfast together that morning, and she'd given me a beautiful gift, and I just really loved being in her company. And I remember we were in the car... she has a blanket that sits across her knees for warmth and it was chilly, and she was like, 'Meghan, come on,' and put it over my knees, as well,' Meghan said. 'It made me think of my grandmother where she's always been warm and inviting and really welcoming.'
NOT IN LA ANYMORE: Meghan admitted she was caught off guard by all of the formalities and rules that had to be adhered to as a member of the Royal family and that while she knew she was marrying a prince, she didn't fully understand what she was getting herself into. 'Thank God I didn't know about the family, thank God I didn't research. I would have been so in my head about it,' she said. 'I grew up in LA, I see celebrities all the time. It's not the same. This is a completely different ball game.'
THE UGLY TRUTH? Meghan said that what upset her more than her argument with Kate was the media's incorrect reporting of the story, and the Palace's refusal to correct them. 'What was hard to get over was being blamed for something that not only I didn't do but that happened to me. And the people who were part of our wedding were going to our comms team and saying: 'I know this didn't happen. I don't have to tell them what actually happened',' she said. And according to her interview, this was only the start of the Palace's reluctance to rectify incorrect reports and protect her and Harry. Meghan said she was 'silenced' by Buckingham Palace officials who 'were willing to lie to protect other members of the Royal family' while she was maligned by the press and told to answer 'no comment' when speaking to reporters. When asked what she regretted about her time in the Royal family, Meghan insisted 'My regret is believing them [the Royal Family] when they said I'd be protected.' Harry said he had 'no regrets'.
THE SECRET WEDDING: Meghan also revealed in her interview that she and Harry felt that their whirlwind wedding wasn't for them - but for others. Their fairytale moment happened three days before her official wedding to Prince Harry - when she and Harry held a private 'union' in their backyard with the the Archbishop of Canterbury and no guests. During this ceremony, the royals tied the knot and exchanged their own personal vows. 'You know, three days before our wedding, we got married. No one knows that,' she said. 'We called the Archbishop and we just said, "Look, this thing, this spectacle is for the world but we want our union between us.'"
MEGHAN'S MENTAL HEALTH: Feeling isolated and alone, Meghan told Oprah she became more and more depressed during her time as a senior royal, particularly during her first pregnancy. When she began to have suicidal thoughts, Meghan said she begged for support and assistance and asked to go somewhere to get help. An unnamed senior member of the Firm, however, told her that would not look good. 'I just didn't want to be alive any more,' the Duchess said. 'I said that I needed to go somewhere to get help. I said that I've never felt this way before and I need to go somewhere. And I was told that I couldn't, that it wouldn't be good for the institution.' Meghan also told Oprah that she 'couldn't be left alone' because of the state she was in but that she still had to smile through her tears during official appearances. Harry claimed he 'didn't have anyone to turn to' during this time and was 'ashamed' to admit his wife was struggling.
CUT OFF BY CHARLES: Prince Harry told Oprah that he had to take matters into his own hands in order to protect his family and stop 'history repeating itself' - but doing so caused serious damage to his relationship with his family. Harry said Prince Charles stopped taking his calls in the lead up to their Megxit announcement and was soon there after cut off financially. He said he was only able to step away from his role in the royal family because of the money that was left to him by Princess Diana. Speaking about his tense familial relations Harry said: 'I feel really let down because he's been through something similar, he knows what pain feels like, (and) Archie's his grandson. But at the same time - I will always love him - but there's a lot of hurt that's happened and I will continue to make it one of my priorities to try and heal that relationship.'
RESPECT FOR HIS GRANDMOTHER: When asked matter-of-factly if he blindsided the Queen with his shock Megxit announcement, Harry insisted he would never do that because he has 'too much respect for her'. The Prince said that while he was living in Canada with Meghan and Archie he had 'three conversations with my grandmother and two conversations with my father, before he stopped taking my calls'. He also alerted the Palace of his plan in writing. News reports at the time, however, claimed Harry did no such thing. When asked where the supposed fake story could have come from, Harry said he could 'hazard a guess' that it may have come 'from within the institution'.
CHATTY ARCHIE: Harry and Meghan also shared unseen candid footage of Archie during the program. The couple's first child, who turns two in May, is seen in the video running around at the beach with his parents and sneaking between the legs of his cameraman dad. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex also shared that the chatty toddler's favorite words were currently 'hydrate' and 'drive safe'.
'Yeah I was so shy, and I went on a date with this guy called Connor Robinson, and we met each other and went to the beach, because in South Shields we have a lovely beach, and went there and got hot chocolate...

'We walked along the beach and sat and looked at the stars and it was romantic and then I had my first kiss and I was like 'oh my god!' and then he walked me back and I went home and that was it, but I remember it being so magical, I loved it.'
Perrie, who was in a relationship with One Direction star and fellow X Factor star Zayn Malik from 2012 to 2015, discussed when she first realised the levels of fame.
She said: 'I feel like it kind of happened quickly in a sense where we were kind of thrown in at the deep end and it was very unexpected and I don't think I knew exactly what it was going to be like...
'I think the one time I was like shocked was when I went to Madison Square Garden to see One Direction, this was years ago, and I walked into the crowd, and the whole crowd started going crazy, to the point where my brother had to grab me and like push me back to safety because people were going mad...
'And I remember looking at my Mam and thinking why is this happening and like going shopping with my mam after the show in the shopping centre and not being able to move and being asked for pictures...

Meanwhile, Little Mix reportedly begun filming their first music video since Jesy Nelson quit the band for their hit single Confetti on Tuesday.
Sources claimed that Perrie, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock will be transformed into men for the video, and despite their excitement have found it 'weird' heading back to work without Jesy.
Filming for the video comes after it was revealed Jesy had signed a solo deal amid claims she left Little Mix to pursue her own career.
According to The Sun, the video will see Jade, Perrie and Leigh-Anne sport facial prosthetics that will transform them into men, and have been working on the project at a secret location in London.
A source said: 'They're going all out and are having full facial prosthetics, which takes hours but it will be worth it in the end. It's a video they have wanted to do for ages.
'It's weird not having Jesy with them, particularly as she sings the whole first verse on the album version, but they're making it work for them because the song has real potential.
