Speaking about his look, the TV star said he wanted to re-visit some of his older styles as he prepped for the 25th anniversary and return of Changing Rooms.

He said: 'September will mark the 25th anniversary of the first ever Changing Rooms episode hitting our screens so I really liked the idea of re-visiting the look I had back then for this new shiney 2021 revivification of the show.

New Zealand’s best ever one-Test players

New Zealand’s best ever one-Test players This is the second article in a series where I select a team of cricketers from each country who have the distinction of playing in only one Test. New Zealand have only been playing Test cricket since 1930, and 280 players have now worn the famous black cap since that first match in Christchurch. Just over 30 players have played only one Test. Here is a team, in batting order, made up of NZ players since 1953 who only played one Test. The early order batting would depend heavily on Les Watt to occupy the crease and lend support to captain Richard Jones.

'Not since the moment when the arsenic green flock in Napoleon's Saint Helena bedroom was accused of poisoning the former Emperor has makeover been such a toxic chalice.

'Bojo's big mistake was to do it in private; if he and Carrie-Antoinette had had the sense to swap with next door neighbours the Sunaks, I and the Changing Rooms band wagon could have at least extracted some prime time entertainment from the moment when Bojo painted the parlour.'

The show returns later this year after a 16-year break, with Davina McCall and Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen as hosts.

Speaking previously, Davina said: 'I'm so excited to be presenting Changing Rooms. It's the perfect time to bring it back. Everyone is going DIY and decor-mad!

'I can't wait to see all the amazing transformations. I might even get stuck in myself if I'm allowed to be let loose with a paint brush.'

Despite dressing up in striking  black leathers, Llewelyn-Bowen said he originally needed encouragement from showrunners to return for the show's revival.

He previously said: 'It's taken quite a lot of coaxing to get me under the Changing Rooms banner once more, but nothing like as much coaxing as it's going to take to squeeze those leather trousers back on.'

The combined Test team of match winners .
As in my previous articles on ‘combined’ Test teams, only one slot is allocated for each Test-playing nation. The criteria are simple: to be considered for this team the player must make a significant contribution in his side’s maiden Test victory. In most Test victories the bowlers play a significant part. Here to keep the balance of my team, I had to overlook some match-winning bowling efforts from Tom Kendall (Aus), Fazal Mahmood (Pak), Baron Constantine (WI), Heathstreak (Zim) and others.
